It’s my privilege to capture who you are at this moment:
your dreams, your passions, your personal style.
I’m Michelle Robertson and I’ll be your professional photographer when you schedule your high school senior pictures or family pictures with Magical Memories by Michelle. You should feel comfortable and confident during your portrait session, so we’ll offer suggestions for locations that you’ll love! You should look amazing, so we’ll discuss wardrobe choices, coordinating outfits, and even review your choices prior to your session.
Relaxed ~ Fun
Yep, that is what I hear about my sessions and my work. Of course, to me, it isn’t work. I absolutely love taking teens and high school seniors out on the town for a fun photo shoot that makes them shine! My heart skips a beat when I pose families together and get a true emotional connection. I would love to meet you and find out how to help you create your dream session!
Relaxed ~ I don’t want to be stressed or rushed and I don’t want my clients to feel that way either! No worries! I don’t wear a watch and don’t check the time during a photo shoot. We’re done when I say we’re done or you’re tired of having my camera in your face! Portrait sessions range from 30 minutes to over 2 hours, everyone has different needs but the results will be amazing no matter what!
Fun ~ Well, of course! Did you know it would be fun? Who would want to have pictures taken if it wasn’t going to be fun? I love taking teens and seniors out for a magazine style photo shoot! You’re the star and I plan to treat you that way from beginning to end! I love to joke with kids and play! If kids (or parents) need a break, we take one. Not only will the final portraits be keepsakes, but my goal is to have the entire experience be memorable!
Colorful ~ I love color! Black & white images are amazing, but having true colorful images that will stand out in your home is a priority!
So mostly the business is “me” but I have some awesome support from my family as well as an amazing assistant! Why do we specialize in senior portraits? Because they’re fun! Yes, you heard me correctly…teenagers are awesome!!! We love being out on location with teens and their families, showcasing your individuality, capturing moments with your BFF, helping young teens & tweens gain confidence, and bringing the whole family together for a much-needed photo shoot!
We’d love to offer you a stunning, one-of-a-kind experience for your senior pictures that will be easy and fun for you, and stress-free for mom! Let us help you with every step from choosing the best outfits, coordinating hair and makeup, scoping out gorgeous locations, and making sure you look absolutely amazing in your senior pictures!
The East Valley is filled with tons of great locations for senior pictures here in the beautiful Arizona desert! We have funky downtown urban areas, lots of textures, beautiful green areas, and vintage locations just to name a few! This is one of the many reasons I love working teens! We have the ability to move around a lot and get a wide variety from your senior photo shoot!
Hair and make up services are also available, for those that prefer professional services. Your session should be fun and relaxed, so there won’t be any rushing to get you in and out in an hour. You’ll want to share these images and display them in your home, so there are a wide variety of gorgeous prints, metals, collages, and tons of products you’ll be able to see at your pre-session consultation.
I can’t wait to get to know you and help document this exciting time of your life! I love natural portraits that really show off who you are, in the most beautiful way possible! I believe in helping you look your best, while staying true to yourself. With my experience and your star quality, we’ll create images that your family will cherish forever.
Now, let’s have some fun!
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME AND MY FAMILY
Those pictures at the bottom of the page? That is my family! I’ve been a professional photographer since 2009, and before that I always loved having pictures taken of my kids, so they’ve grown up in front of a camera. So this is us. My husband Lance and I have been married for 19 years and have 2 children. Trevor is 17 and got his license last year, so he’s really enjoying his independence. Let’s face it, I love that I have someone to run errands for me! He’s a senior at Desert Ridge High School this year. Alex is 15 and was in gymnastics for years, but last year switched to diving which has been absolutely amazing! She just finished her first JO season and is looking forward to another great year with East Valley Dive Club. She’s a sophomore at Desert Ridge and will hopefully be on the dive team there too!
We don’t have family pictures taken as often as I’d like because well, I’m always behind the camera!!! But my kids do cooperate (if bribed) several times a year. While neither is overly joyed about their birthday pictures in the spring, they both LOVE October when I “force” them to do Halloween pictures! I get awesome pictures, they get to go all out with their costumes, it’s super fun!
And that last picture in the set? That’s me with my buddy, Tigger. Yes, we’re a huge Disney-loving family. Disneyland is our favorite vacation spot and we made sure that both of our kids celebrated their first Christmas at Disneyland. Do they remember? Of course not, but I sure do! Let me tell you, it is completely awesome when Mickey Mouse sits down on the floor of his screening room to hold your baby. It is amazing when your kids love to play peekaboo with the characters and Goofy sits down at your table. And when your 5 and 7 year olds are personally invited by Cinderella and Mickey Mouse for a Disneyland vacation, well, yes we do go to those lengths to make memories in our family. Letters came personalized to our kids, complete with a Disneyland stamp and return address, as well as t-shirts from their favorite characters. Then of course they had to “ask” us if it was ok to go…you know, since they were personally invited to Disneyland! Then the year Stanley (our Elf on a Shelf) gave them a special Disneyland vacation just before Christmas, and we had to frantically pack to get there to use the “voucher” that he left for our family and claim our annual passes. I suppose as a family we might be just a little crazy, but that’s what makes us fun! So if some of that crazy spills over into your photo shoot, at least you’ve been warned!
Now that you’ve learned a little about me, I’d love to show you my portfolio! There is a lot to see, so you can get ideas for clothing, locations, and poses that I use for my clients!
